Frequently asked questions.

What people ask most before downloading the app.

Getting started

What is a rover?

A personal AI agent that looks like a plush toy. Rover creates each one to fit what you need, and you adjust it your way in the app. It takes missions, works on its own computer, and comes back with the result.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Talk to your rover like someone you trust, by text or voice.

How does the free plan work?

Your rovers run on your computer, with the AI you already subscribe to through each provider's official app, or with the free engine. Conversations, memory, tasks, missions, routines, and the vault all come with Free. The cloud computer starts on Pro.

Computers and routines

What is Base?

It's your rover's cloud computer, included in Pro and Max. It stays on while there's work and sleeps when there's no mission. Using Base doesn't cost credits.

Can I see what my rover is doing?

Yes. Its computer screen streams live in the app, and you can take over anytime.

Do routines run with my laptop closed?

Not yet. Routines run on your computer at the scheduled time, while it is on. Running in the cloud while your computer sleeps is under construction.

Security and vault

Can my rover see my passwords?

It only uses what you allow, item by item, for a limited time. Whenever possible, the vault fills in the details, so your rover never sees the password or card number.

Who approves payments?

You do. Payments and sensitive actions need a tap on your phone, with the amount, website, and rover clearly shown.

Can I bring passwords from another password manager?

Yes. The vault imports passwords exported from 1Password and Bitwarden.

Plans and credits

Can I use my ChatGPT or Claude subscription in the cloud?

On your computer, yes. In the cloud, your rover uses Rovemark credits or your own API key, because providers don't allow personal subscriptions on third-party servers.

What are credits?

They pay for Muse, Grok, and GPT, the backup engine, and work in the cloud. Every paid plan comes with credits that renew each month on your billing date, and they don't roll over. If they run out, you can buy a pack in the app, even on Free.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Change plans or cancel in Manage subscription, and your rovers stay with you on the free plan.

Which plan includes the Hangar Network and the Muse, Grok, and GPT engines?

On Pro and Max. The Muse, Grok, and GPT engines run through the Rovemark Router and use your plan's credits.

Monthly or yearly: what's the difference?

The features are the same. With yearly, you pay once a year for 10 months and get 12. Both renew automatically until you cancel in Manage subscription.

The app and your data

Does Rover Hangar work in the browser?

No. Rover Hangar is an app: you download it, open it, and talk to Rover. The website is for learning about the product and downloading the app.

Can I use it with Grok, Muse, or ChatGPT?

Yes, through the Hangar Network on the Pro and Max plans. You add an MCP connector in the assistant, and it can see your rovers and send them requests.

Does my data leave my computer?

Conversations, rovers, and the vault stay on your computer, and the vault is encrypted with its key in the Keychain. Only what the task needs goes out: the text sent to the AI engine you chose and, on paid plans, what you sync through your Rovemark account. The details are in the privacy policy.
